The Best Toilet Based On The Physical Characteristics Of The Human Body

It may be surprising but human beings all began life evacuating waste using the squatting position. One only has to look at to young children to see this. It follows than that the best toilet encourages a squatting position while using it. To understand this, when a person uses this method their legs are pressed against their stomachs. This causes a mild pressure that helps in their evacuation.

Squatting toilets are generally related more with Eastern cultures than Western cultures. In some places they are even known as Eastern or traditional toilets. Strangely these toilets have been used by all cultures from distant past. There are references to this in the Torah, the Bible and even ancient Egyptian scrolls.

The modern commode came into prominence in England around the mid 1800's. They drew a widespread use because people felt that sitting was a little more dignified just squatting. Related to this was the idea that sitting toilets resembled thrones. This idea of a throne appealed to the aristocrats of the day. From this the idea the upright sitting privy took hold and spread across much of the western world. While first thought to be a fad, its enduring power can be felt everywhere in the Western world.

If it were not for sitting potties, most children would impulsively squat while answering the calls of nature. Incorrect toileting posture can actually have a far greater effect on children. With their shorter legs, their feet often are not able to touch the ground when they are on a regular upright sitting toilet.

Adults can lean forward to mimic the squatting position. Because of their much shorter legs children are unable to do this. This often fills them with a feeling of dread when first learning how to use the bathroom. The use of squatting toilets for young children could go a long way to help alleviate these fears.

Like any other commodes, squatting toilets are available in many different shapes and sizes. They are also manufactured out of several different materials and many different colors. Some can also be purchased with a flushing option. With a flushing option they are every bit as hygienically safe as a standard privy.

Anyone who lives in the Western world and had never visited the Eastern world may find using these strange at first. But as time passes it will begin to seem more and more natural. It may seem strange but the best toilet for how bodies are designed, are the squatting toilets.
